Young Audiences Charter School is excited to announce our “Monthly Performance Concert Series” supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council for the 2019-20 school year.

 

In addition to being a major component of our curriculum, artistic performances are central to school culture. Decentralized Arts Funding has allowed YACS to offer a comprehensive performance series featuring our region’s most talented performing artists and ensembles during the 2018-19 school year. Performances were selected to complement existing school events, meet specific curriculum standards, and address academic content in subject areas such as math, science, language arts, and social studies. Featured artists include Chris Sheard & The Whyos, Grayhawk Perkins, Soul of New Orleans, Claudia Baumgarten, Goat in the Road Productions, and Kabuki Dancers.
